Contour/Highlight Tutorial and FOTD

Knowing how to contour and highlight your face is very important. It shadows your face and gives it some dimension, which can make you look thinner.
I made a diagram of how to contour and highlight your face:

I know it looks complicated, but it's really not. Here are step by step instructions:

1. Start off by applying your favorite liquid foundation. Wait a few minutes for it to set, and apply a powder foundation over it. This will help everything blend together well.
TIP: Don't apply liquid makeup on top of powdered makeup, because that will make your makeup look caked on.

2. To contour your face, chose a shade that is a bit darker then your natural skin tone and apply it in the areas shown in the diagram: under your cheekbones, both sides of your forehead, nose, and the sides of your neck.
TIP: When contouring under your cheekbones, aim for a line going from the top corner of your mouth back towards your ears.

3. Apply blush on the apples of your cheeks and blend in back towards your ears, blending into the contour.

4. Finish off by applying highlight in the areas shown: forehead, down the center of the nose, under your eyes, on the chin and neck.

Now for the makeup I am wearing today:
Hope you guys had a great weekend! xoxo

    1. I used Revlon blue eye pencil in the waterline, and then applied just a regular blue eyeshadow from one of my eyeshadow palettes right under my lash line using an angled brush.
